Summary:
The Director for Employer Outreach and Connections will lead the Center for Career & Professional Development's efforts in engaging employers and community organizations to develop a range of opportunities for Lehigh students and Alumni to gain experience and employment. The Director is responsible for new employer outreach, including soliciting new employers, building the employer pipeline, managing key employer relationships and creating opportunities for employers to connect with Lehigh students and Alumni. The Director serves on the Center's leadership team and participates in developing strategic plans, goals and initiatives. The Director develops relationships with employers and Alumni, manages high-impact student programming such as the annual Career Expo, collaborates with colleagues across campus and works on a fast-paced, innovative team. The Director should demonstrate a commitment to innovation and risk-taking across all accountabilities.

Accountabilities:

* Strategic planning and program management

* With the Senior Director, set the strategic vision for the employer outreach strategy and lead all staff in developing and implementing shared strategic priorities; monitor and report progress toward strategic goals and objectives
* Provides leadership for the design, implementation and assessment of the Center's employer outreach plan
* Lead the comprehensive outreach strategy to ensure that employers and student needs are met through recruiting efforts with Center for Career & Professional Development and to ensure that students have access to relevant and timely recruiting programs and opportunities

* Strategic outreach and relationship development

* Create and execute the Center's employer outreach strategy to increase employment connections
* Develop pipeline strategy to attract new and inactive employers for partnerships in on-campus recruiting, workshops and presentations; with end goal of generating employment connections
* Plan and manage the on-campus recruiting program necessary to expand internship and employment opportunities for students ensuring a mutually beneficial experience for students and employers
* Coordinate efforts with campus partners to ensure efficient relationship management and development with employers and community members
* Develop and maintain employer relationships and work actively to promote on-campus and remote recruitment of students by desirable employers in accordance with employer and experiential development plan
* Coordinate and implement outreach to active employers in line with strategy
* Work with employer partners to create a baseline of Alumni within a given firm and discuss how to strengthen the recruitment pipeline and identify additional recruitment opportunities
* Participate in various local, state, regional and national organizations to increase internship and employment opportunities for students
* Assist employers in building their brands on campus in collaboration with the recruiting Coordinator; advise employers on marketing strategies and set expectations about number of student applicants per job and internship postings(s), event participation and student involvement; ensure adequate and creative marketing of employer postings and events
* Communicate employer feedback about student readiness and industry recruiting trends to faculty, campus partners and the Center for Career & Professional Development Team
* Evaluate employer and student recruiting policies in accordance with professional association standards (NACE); communicate policies to students and employers
* Steward existing employers through recruitment lifecycle including in person, electronic and phone communication in alignment with employer development plan

* Partner program assessment

* Establish metrics, track engagement and outcome levels to determine progress of employer engagement; prepare monthly statistical reports regarding job and internship postings and outreach activity metrics
* Regularly conduct gap analysis of employer and experiential development program and on-campus recruiting efforts based on benchmark data and create reports outlining improvement plans; implement initiatives to address any potential gaps
* Assist with administering the CRM platform to perform the various stages of recruiting, posting jobs, pre-screening applicants and tracking student/graduate progression
* Keep thorough records of all recruitment activity including reporting and tracking student applicant data

* Project management and administrative duties

* Lead the planning and execution of two annual career expos to connect students and employers; responsibile for all logistics and budgetary planning
* Provide leadership for coordination of special programs and projects in line with strategic planning process of the Career Center
* Serve on various cross-functional teams to promote the vision and direction of the Career Center; contribute to the strategic planning in order to evolve center services and programs


Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling or related degree
* Five to eight years related work experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent writing ability and organizational skills
* Solid analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
* Solid presentation skills
* Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
* Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, county and national criminal background checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance. Based upon the requirements of the position Lehigh may also request credit history reports, motor vehicle checks and professional license/certification verification

Special Considerations:

* This position has fiscal or financial responsibilities other than employee expense activity, such as processing or approving transactions; monitoring or preparing budgets; or generating income for University
* pounds, work in we or humid non-weather conditions, or areas with risk of radiation
* This position is responsible for driving university-owned vehicles as a routine function, therefore a valid Driver's License and a good driving record is required
* This position works with minors
* Periods of high volume/workload may be required during peak recruiting times
* Occasional evening, holiday or weekend hours
* Occasional travel to attend conferences or training

Grade and Hiring Minimum:
10-40
