The College of Human Ecology has an opening for an Assistant/Associate Director of Student and Career Development. The successful candidate will provide academic and career counseling and advising for students in the College of Human Ecology. Specific responsibilities include: advising students on the curriculum for the college's 8 undergraduate majors, providing programs to help students better understand career paths and opportunities, as well as college and university academic policies; assisting in the coordination of career development and job search services for 1200 undergraduates in the college, including group presentations, workshop development, college-wide and department specific programming; serving as college counselor for undergraduates considering medical school and post graduate study in the health professions; acting as advisor to student group, Pre-professional Association Towards Careers in Health (PATCH); supporting the office supervisor overseeing the Career Exploration Center; acting as office liaison to the Urban Semester program; serving as a member of Human Ecology's Student and Career Development staff; supporting admissions activity, as needed; and contributing to programming for prospective and current students and alumni.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling, advising or related field, plus 2 -3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must have strong interpersonal, people, and time management skills, enjoy working with students, and be comfortable with a fast-paced, complex organization. Proven written and oral communication skills a must. Proficiency with professional office software suites and social media platforms required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling, Advising, Higher Education Administration, or related field preferred. Career Services/development experience desired.
