Visiting Assistant Professor in Water Resources

The Nicholas School of the Environment (NSOE) at Duke University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in water resources, hydrology, or closely related discipline, to start August, 2018. This is a non-regular rank term position currently planned for 2 years. Applicants must be available to teach in the 2018 fall semester, with start date flexible to allow preparation of courses.
Responsibilities include: 1) teaching three Master of Environmental Management water resources courses per year, 2) significant academic and career advising for professional Master's students, and 3) advising of required Master's projects. Specific courses will include hydrology, plus additional courses in the lecturer's areas of expertise (preferably including water management, water GIS, and/or groundwater hydrology). Interaction with upper level undergraduate and Ph.D. students is also possible.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach, advise, and mentor master's-level and undergraduate students from a diverse range of backgrounds in ways that will expand and enrich the culture of inclusiveness at NSOE.
