The Security Engineer I resolves issues and identifies appropriate issues for escalation. Plans, installs, integrates and validates moderately complex security solutions with guidance from others. May interface with other internal teams (e.g. infrastructure, applications) or with external partners (e.g. Security Operations Centers, Pen Testers etc.). Acquires and applies maturing knowledge of Presence Health, its services and processes. Participates in the development and implementation of team initiatives related to security solutions. Applies learned skills to perform problem resolution across integrated platforms, systems, processes and departments. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Presence Health. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Change and Release Management: Applies sound IT production and change management methods to all areas of Information Systems. Actively communicates changes within the IT infrastructure to all affected parties proactively and in an effective manner. Follows and documents strict testing and deployment methodologies for Information Systems. Disaster Recovery/Business Continuation: Follows the processes and maintains appropriately available IS Security environment with primary focus being on EHR, HIM, Finance, HR, Supply Chain and email systems. This includes controlled observation and evaluation of new technologies and methodologies. Testing plans and documentation are required. Capacity, Configuration and Architecture Management: Develops a high-level of understanding of Presence Health's security infrastructure environments. Responsible for maintaining all security systems. Adheres to all standards and configurations. Manages system capacity through the use of monitoring tools and statistical analysis. Contributes to system life cycle recommendations and funding requests. Works with internal and external Security Operations Center (SOC) staff to maintain and support the SOC. Also works with the 24/7 Technical Operations Center (TOC) at the data center. Availability/Incident Management: Responsible for the timely resolution of problems and incidents in the security environment. This includes maintaining the system operations in accordance with all regulatory requirements with primary focus on confidentiality, PCI and HIPAA Security Regulations. Analyzes security incidents, determines cause and determines if incident qualifies as a legitimate security breach. Preserves evidence per standard operating procedures. Interfaces with other teams and initiates escalation procedures. Appropriately informs and advises management on incidents and incident prevention. Priority Management: Must manage several assignments at one time, balancing resources, priorities, deadlines and time. The work is highly technical, requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and groups. The ability to work independently is also required. Shift work and limited travel are possible. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Required and Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience
- Working knowledge of Network, Systems or Security principles, techniques and technologies
- Epic experience preferred/Presence Epic experience a plus.
- CCNA, CCNA Security, COMPTIA or COMPTIA Security required
