Position Summary
Full time position available on or after December 2, 2019 for School of Nursing.This position is on the 11/12 Pay Plan with the pay periods of July off work each year. Benefits and salary are paid over 12 months.

Under general supervision of the Director, School of Nursing and day to day lead direction of the Faculty Simulation Coordinator, this position performs comprehensive support services for the Nursing Department's Health Simulation laboratories at CSU Stanislaus and associated satellite campuses. This position leads and performs highly advanced and technical support duties in specialized health care simulation laboratory environments, assists the Simulation Coordinator and faculty in preparing for complex learning experiences, coordinates the functions and maintenance of simulation laboratories and specialized healthcare and simulation equipment, ensures the maintenance of various pieces of electronic and healthcare and simulation equipment is performed appropriately.

Job Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist Faculty Simulation Director, nursing faculty, and other instructional staff by preparing and presenting simulations designed to enhance students learning processes.
Participate in the planning and implementation of simulation exercises; and set up and conduct instructional exercises as directed and/or assistance of the Simulation Director.
Ensure that nursing laboratories are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition; ensure the cleaning and organizing of materials and equipment including manikins; ensure the safety and security of the equipment.
Operate a variety of computers and technical equipment pertaining to the simulation laboratories.
Responsible for preparing and maintaining simulation and skills lab equipment, manikins, media, audio/visual, computers, and materials related to learning. Provide user support, troubleshoot, install, update, configure, and maintain various technologies.
Install and set up miscellaneous hardware and software associated with healthcare simulation; resolve and report minor technical issues.
Maintain accurate and complete records and files, including materials and equipment inventories, warranty information, and maintenance records and schedules.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the course of work.
Coordinates work with outside vendors to ensure proper maintenance and repair of specialized simulation equipment, including warranty repairs, and maintains accurate and complete records of warranty, maintenance, and maintenance schedules.
Orders, and stocks laboratory supplies and equipment; contacts and negotiates with vendors to obtain supplies as needed. Maintains records of materials ordered; issued, used and returned, and prepares related reports; maintains inventories to ensure adequate quantities are available for timely instructional use.
Works closely with the technical and facilities staff to solve problems, coordinate support services, and install new equipment as appropriate.
Maintain awareness of current health care simulation developments through research, self-study, and participation in formal training programs.
Assist faculty in utilizing specialized computer technology as part of the simulation process.
Work closely with central technical and facilities staff to solve complex problems, coordinate support resources, and install new equipment as appropriate.
Work with outside vendors to ensure proper maintenance and repair is performed on specialized healthcare and healthcare simulation equipment, including warranty repairs.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:Equivalent to two years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area to which assigned may be substituted for one year of the required experience; OR Equivalent to four years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the specialty area to which assigned may be substituted for two years of the required the experience.

OR

Experience:Equivalent to four years of experience providing instructional support services for a related unit or discipline or in producing materials or supplies or repairing equipment in a discipline related to specialty area to which assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Health Care and/or health care simulation experience is desired but not required.
Simulation Operations certification will enhance the applicant's application.
Interpersonal and communication skills in working with students and faculty in a simulated educational environment.
Ability to operate audio/visual equipment in a simulated health care environment, or willingness to learn.
Ability to operate simulated health care equipment such as high-fidelity mannequins in a simulated health care environment, or willingness to learn.
Ability to maintain materials, inventory, and technical references of specialized health care simulation equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to stay calm and focused in difficult situations.
Able to follow directions in both verbal and written formats.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the course of work.
Knowledge and experience in, or willingness to learn, operating and maintaining sophisticated health care simulation mannequins.
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, typical Audio/Visual technologies used in an academic simulation and training scenarios.
Ability to use a computerized information management system for storage and retrieval of information for reports and summaries.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn specialized computing technologies associated with audio/video capture and healthcare simulation.
Ability to problem solve and seek solutions for simulation issues.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of the principles, information, methods and techniques related to the discipline to which assigned.
Knowledge of the materials and supplies related to the curriculum, their characteristics, and uses.
Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work.
Ability to operate and repair technical and scientific equipment.
Ability to coordinate support service to meet a comprehensive variety of needs.
Ability to develop off-campus resources related to the discipline for obtaining materials or equipment.

Salary Range

$3,765 - $6,811 per month plus excellent paid benefits. (Anticipated salary will be $3,765 - $4,142 per month, depending on the qualifications of the successful finalist.)
