Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions -- Evaluations & Advising Services, the incumbent is responsible for the evaluation and analysis of academic records and an array of personal information from individuals applying for undergraduate freshman admission to the UC Santa Cruz. The incumbent will receive training in the review of freshman applicants prior to the actual review of the applications. The incumbent will interpret and apply a wide variety of complex faculty-approved policies to determine an applicant's UC eligibility, an appropriate holistic assessment, if an applicant has met the UC Santa Cruz selection criteria to be admitted to the campus.
The Office of Admissions at the UC Santa Cruz, is dedicated to providing service to prospective, new, and continuing students pursuing an undergraduate education. In carrying out our mission, we promote the campus and its programs to prospective students and their representatives, as well as the public at large; we admit and enroll students that reflect the values and commitment of the campus faculty and administration, and we ensure those students a smooth transition to the start of their academic careers at UC Santa Cruz; we assist continuing UC Santa Cruz students in the timely completion of their degrees.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be available to come in person to Santa Cruz, California for a week long training beginning 11/18/19 (with the possibility this might get pushed back to the week of 12/2/19).
This position requires passing a pre-employment criminal history background check. Selected candidates cannot begin work until passing their background check. Please note: Time required to complete this process may vary and can be lengthy.
This is a home office-based position that requires occasional travel to campus.

* Basic knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
* Demonstrated ability to make accurate and consistent interpretations of a broad variety of academic and/or administrative policies and procedures.
* Demonstrated ability to research and analyze information and come to appropriate conclusions, employing complex policies and procedures.
* Experience in effectively using robust web-based and/or networked applications to effectively input, access, and analyze information critical to the daily functioning of the work environment.
