The Department of Management, Information Systems and Quantitative Methods (MISQ) in the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks applicant for an open rank, tenure-track faculty member in Operations Management to begin Fall 2019. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
The Management (MG) group within the department has a variety of research interests, including: operations management, supply chain management, human resource management, strategic management, entrepreneurship and organizational behavior. Additionally, the MG faculty conduct research in a range of settings, including healthcare settings. While high quality high quality peer-reviewed research is emphasized, the university administration is supportive of cross-disciplinary collaborations across the university and with the business community. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from an AACSB accredited program (or equivalent), and demonstrate an ability to maintain a strong record of research and scholarship. Teaching operations management will be required of the position, as well as the ability to teach additional management courses. Applicants that have yet to earn their doctorate will be considered, but must have successfully defended their dissertation prior to beginning employment.
Teaching experience and interests are open. Practitioner experience is desired. Applicants will find outstanding opportunities to reach and conduct a wide range of research at UAB.
