Our Fiscal team currently is currently looking for a talented Controller with nonprofit experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to take data and paint a picture with it.
The Controller provides financial oversight for SCES. S/he is responsible for effectively managing all fiscal functions, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting, and establishing and maintaining internal controls that ensure the organization’s fiscal integrity. This position is seen as a succession position and as such may assume additional responsibilities, as circumstances change.
Master’s degree in appropriate discipline plus five years of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience may be substituted. Experience in financial planning and operations in a non-profit setting required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to groups, required.
Supervisory experience required, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgement. Excellent organizational skills required; must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks. Working knowledge of State purchasing and reporting regulations preferred. Ability to oversee computerized information systems required. Strong skills with spreadsheets, word processing, databases, mid to high end accounting and computerized payroll systems required. Familiarity with Excel, MS Office, Abila/Sage/MIP Non-Profit Series accounting system and Paylocity Payroll system preferred. Experience in elder or social services setting preferred.
$80-95K and an excellent benefits package including a 35-hour work week, medical, dental, agency paid life, short/long term disability, 401(k) with agency contribution, earned leave accrued at a rate of 24 days per year and 13 holidays.
