SUMMARY

The Staff Nurse I - Registered Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. The RN incorporates the Carative Factors of human care and performs established procedures in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of care of Presence health and the nursing division. The RN coordinates family involvement in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient, and delegates tasks to competent and appropriate caregivers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assesses each patient's biophysical, psychosocial, environment, spiritual, cultural, self-care, educational and discharge planning based on age and development status.
* Develops and prioritizes an outcome directed plan of care to assigned patients and changes as necessary.
* Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards of practice and within scope of the State Nurse Practice. Documents care per established standards.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions. Modifies the plan of care focusing on age and development status and patient outcomes.
* Assess patient and family educational needs and ability to participate and learn to achieve patient plan of care through collaboration with other team members.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



1. Minimum of 2 years Critical Care experience, (of those 2 years, at least 1 year specifically with the Cardiovascular Surgery Patient Population)

a. Coronary Artery Bypass Graft

b. Valve Surgery

c. Open Aneurysm Repair/Graft

d. Thoracic Surgery

e. Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump

f. *Impella, ECMO, and TAVR experience preferred but not required*

2. Knowledge of post-operative hemodynamic monitoring required

3. Must speak to possible post-operative complications

QUALIFICATIONS

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California (UC), Davis, School of Medicine, is recruiting for a full-time scientist or physician-scientist in the Assistant/Associate Professor, Regular/In Residence (50%/50%) series, to develop a thematic research program focusing on the influence of the microbiome on the development and progression of human disease. This position is central to the growth and expansion of research programs within the department, the UC Davis Health, and the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will spend a minimum of 50% effort in research. Responsibilities include intellectual leadership in building an independent, thematic, multi-disciplinary, extramurally-funded translational research program. Research themes may include, but are not limited to: (1) effect of microbe-microbe, microbe-host and/or diet-microbe interactions on host physiology and human health; (2) biomarker identification for diet-associated diseases leading to prevention and treatment; (3) drug discovery that uses bugs or microorganism-generated metabolites as well as targets; (4) immunotherapy for solid tumors. Creating and/or implementing laboratory-developed tests and FDA validation studies are encouraged. The successful candidate is expected to integrate and leverage existing research and clinical programs at UC Davis Health, including the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, Alzheimer's Disease Center, School of Agriculture, School of Veterinary Medicine, and the Center for Comparative Medicine, the California National Primate Center, and the Center for Mouse Biology. Teaching in formal educational programs and mentorship of trainees is required.

Qualification Requirements: MD/DO, or PhD, or MD/DO-PhD; a strong record of publication and career development in biomedical animal- and/or human-based research and demonstrated teaching experience. Active extramural research funding is highly desirable. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to anticipate change and implement initiatives to meet the challenges of academic medicine and science, a demonstrated commitment to diversity including a record of successful mentorship of students and others, and should exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with administration, trainees, clinicians, faculty in other disciplines, and technical staff. Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a doctoral degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited business school. Candidates must present evidence of potential for publication in peer reviewed journals. College teaching experience is a plus as is prior business or managerial experience for candidates with a qualified doctoral degree.

Candidates with an MBA and a U S CPA license or CMA certificate may be considered if they also have recent and extensive management level experience in accounting. All candidates must demonstrate significant knowledge of US GAAP to be considered.


Required Qualifications: Candidates must either hold a Ph.D. in Accounting, or candidates holding an MBA or MSA paired with a current CPA or CMA. Candidates must present evidence of potential for publication in peer reviewed journals. Candidates with a MBA or MSA must have professional experience that is significant in duration and level of responsibility and current at the time of hiring.
