The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California at Santa Barbara is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the broad area of signal processing and communications, with an effective appointment date of July 1, 2019. The Department has particular (non-exclusive) interest in applicants with a depth of expertise in data science, machine learning, and related fields, along with broader interests and the ability to collaborate with faculty across disciplines.

Candidates should have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

A Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field is required and expected by the time of appointment. Completed applications will consist of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement (2-page limit), statement of research interests (3-page limit), and three letters of reference; applicants may also choose to submit a statement of diversity contributions.

* Prepares from standardized recipes large-scale food production for patients, cafeteria, guests and catering clients according to established forecasts within specified timeframes. Ensures that food service is provided correctly to patients and employees making use of patient menus, recipes, dietary restrictions, garnishing instructions and portion charts.

* Prepares, serves and stores food in a safe and sanitary manner ensuring all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in accordance with Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.

* Utilizes all products in a cost effective manner preparing only to the forecasted level. Monitors food production and makes adjustments throughout the shift to ensure minimal product waste.

* Demonstrates an ability to work effectively with peers, supervisors and managers as a member of the team and establishes collaborative and supportive relationships. Cross trains in various cook positions and assists in the proper training and orientation of new staff.

* Follows established policies and procedures for all aspects of the job being performed. Follows the assigned cleaning procedures and cleaning schedules.

Faculty Position in Structural Materials
Materials Department

The Materials Department in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Structural Materials.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop a leading research program on novel structural materials with properties relevant to extreme thermomechanical environments. Areas of potential interest include unique synthesis and processing approaches that exert control from the nanoscale to the mesoscale, novel electrochemical processing paths that could produce highly engineered interfaces with unique functionalities, and materials design and processing enhanced by data science, sensors and computational materials science. Emphasis on experimental research is highly desirable. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a record of publication in scholarly journals and the disposition and ability for collaborative research.

Appointment would be effective July 1, 2019 or later. Candidate must hold a Ph.D. in a science or engineering field by the time of the appointment.

1. One Tenure Track Assistant Professor

The Department is looking for exceptional individuals in the area of Bioengineering and Systems Biology broadly in the area of Mechanobiology, with topics that include, but are not limited to: mechanical signaling in living systems, cell and tissue biomechanics, engineering or regeneration of mechanically functional tissues, and/or cellular dynamics, systems modeling and bioinformatics relating form, function, and epigenetic regulation.

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, recruitment, and supervision of graduate students, and the development of an actively funded research program of the highest quality. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A demonstrated record of excellence in research and proven ability as, or potential to develop into, an outstanding teacher are desired. Successful candidates will have a strong record of collaborative, interdisciplinary research, contribute to Mechanical Engineering curricula and student mentoring, and leverage synergies within the Department and the College of Engineering.

2. One Full-Time Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment (synonymous to a tenure-track teaching Professor) in the Area of Mechanical Design

This position is intended for an innovative individual with an enthusiasm for, and breadth of knowledge in, mechanical design and its emerging applications in diverse fields. A successful applicant should be committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduates, to improving the undergraduate mechanical engineering program, and to recruiting talented and diverse high-school graduates in collaboration with other faculty. The ideal candidate will engage, excite, and challenge students in problem solving with a combination of design creativity and engineering analysis. Teaching assignments may include topics such as machine elements, machine design, joint design and analysis, adhesive bonding and welding, machine dynamics and fatigue, design process, design for manufacturing, teamwork, project planning, creative thinking, engineering graphics, and CAD. Consequently, the ideal candidate should be interested and experienced in teaching in different educational settings - from small, project-oriented, inquiry-based

classes, to larger, more traditional, lecture-oriented classes. The teaching load is 3 courses per quarter with possible load reduction for administrative service. Service will begin with the 2019-20 academic year.

A PhD degree in engineering or science and a demonstrated record of teaching excellence is required.

SUMMARY

The Home Health Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) that practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. Uses the principles of community health nursing and the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, to provide care to patients in their homes in accordance with the physician's medical plan of treatment. Collaborates with managers, physicians and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding patient's care, coordinates family involvement in the assessment/treatment and continuing care of the patient, and delegates tasks to competent and appropriate caregivers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assesses each patient's biophysical, psychological, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs based on age and developmental status.

* Develops a prioritized and outcome directed plan of care to assigned patients as necessary.

* Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards of practice and within limits of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.

* Utilizes assessment skills during contact with patients to detect changes in status and initiates appropriate interventions.

* Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions by performing ongoing assessments and reassessments of patient problems, conditions and treatments. Modifies the plan of care focusing on age and developmental status.
