The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians and faculty to teach, develop, implement, evaluate and disseminate scholarship in medical education.

General Responsibilities:
1. Provide instruction in the basic and/or clinical sciences in a culturally diverse environment in various settings including the classroom, clinical sites, laboratory, as well as computer-based and other distance-learning delivery systems. Generate curricular materials for instructional activities. 2. Establish learning objectives and competency standards for undergraduate medical students. Contribute to the process of student assessment, and development, implementation and evaluation of assessment materials and procedures. Develop and implement effective remediation processes for students identified as performing below established competency standards. 3. Use and promote best practices in education. Provide mentoring, training and support for other faculty in order to improve instruction across the curriculum and encourage adoption of improved instructional techniques by our faculty.
4. Maintain and improve competence in subject content and instructional methodology through participation in faculty development activities and self-directed learning.
5. Assist, evaluate, advise and mentor medical students regarding academic, curricular and career matters.
6. Participate in scholarly activity that contribute to the anatomical sciences in the field of learning and teaching. Submit scholarly work for open dissemination and professional peer review. Seek extramural funding to support scholarly activities. Scholarly activities may include the advancement of new theories and principles, expansion and interpretation of existing ideas, or improvement and application of knowledge, especially in innovative educational environments.
7. Perform administrative duties, such as holding a course or discipline directorship, as negotiated and assigned.

Essential Functions

* Responsible for participating in the planning and execution of a yearly calendar of events for alumni, parents, donors and other key community constituents.

* Manages and maintains a portfolio of events as directed by the Director of Special Events.

* Collaborates with the Development and Alumni Relations offices to ensure events align with strategic goals.

* Tracks event attendance; develops timelines and cost estimates; coordinates production of invitations and other electronic or printed materials; and oversees assigned event logistics and programs. Secures proposals and estimates from and works with vendors. Manages post-event reporting, analysis and debriefs.

* Oversees all event budgets, provides cost-analysis and forecasting information as requested by Director of Special Events and Executive Director of Campaign Planning + Strategy.

* Plans, manages and executes discrete aspects and elements of RISD Weekend, Founders Day, Commencement and other large-scale events both on and off-campus.

* Prepares and oversees all aspects of event management for smaller events, such as donor gatherings, including, but not limited to event materials (briefings, research, nametags, invitations, programs, signage, etc.) budgets, staffing, and coordination of volunteer management.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Classified Oakland University invites applications for a Special Instructor of Marketing position that will begin in August of 2020. This is a full-time teaching and service position. The person who fills this position will primarily teach some combination of undergraduate courses in introductory marketing, marketing research, consumer behavior, integrated marketing communications, marketing strategy, marketing analytics and other electives; some graduate level teaching may also be necessary. The teaching load for this position is seven classes per academic year. Teaching location and format may vary based on department needs. Preference will be given to candidates with a Masters degree or PhD in marketing (or a related field) from an AACSB-accredited university. University-level teaching experience in marketing at an AACSB-accredited university is highly preferred. Experience with university service obligations including managing student organizations, developing and conducting curricular assessment, facilitating experiential learning opportunities, and working with industry partners is highly preferred. Several years of marketing management experience in industry or consulting is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will support scholarly and/or practitioner activity at the level required for the School of Business Administration to maintain its AACSB accreditation standards. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.A Masters degree in marketing (or a related field).
