SUMMARY

The Staff Nurse I - Registered Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. The RN incorporates the Carative Factors of human care and performs established procedures in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of care of Presence health and the nursing division. The RN coordinates family involvement in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient, and delegates tasks to competent and appropriate caregivers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assesses each patient's biophysical, psychosocial, environment, spiritual, cultural, self-care, educational and discharge planning based on age and development status.
* Develops and prioritizes an outcome directed plan of care to assigned patients and changes as necessary.
* Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards of practice and within scope of the State Nurse Practice. Documents care per established standards.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions. Modifies the plan of care focusing on age and development status and patient outcomes.
* Assess patient and family educational needs and ability to participate and learn to achieve patient plan of care through collaboration with other team members.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



1. Minimum of 2 years Critical Care experience, (of those 2 years, at least 1 year specifically with the Cardiovascular Surgery Patient Population)

a. Coronary Artery Bypass Graft

b. Valve Surgery

c. Open Aneurysm Repair/Graft

d. Thoracic Surgery

e. Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump

f. *Impella, ECMO, and TAVR experience preferred but not required*

2. Knowledge of post-operative hemodynamic monitoring required

3. Must speak to possible post-operative complications

QUALIFICATIONS

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California (UC), Davis, School of Medicine, is recruiting for a full-time scientist or physician-scientist in the Assistant/Associate Professor, Regular/In Residence (50%/50%) series, to develop a thematic research program focusing on the influence of the microbiome on the development and progression of human disease. This position is central to the growth and expansion of research programs within the department, the UC Davis Health, and the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will spend a minimum of 50% effort in research. Responsibilities include intellectual leadership in building an independent, thematic, multi-disciplinary, extramurally-funded translational research program. Research themes may include, but are not limited to: (1) effect of microbe-microbe, microbe-host and/or diet-microbe interactions on host physiology and human health; (2) biomarker identification for diet-associated diseases leading to prevention and treatment; (3) drug discovery that uses bugs or microorganism-generated metabolites as well as targets; (4) immunotherapy for solid tumors. Creating and/or implementing laboratory-developed tests and FDA validation studies are encouraged. The successful candidate is expected to integrate and leverage existing research and clinical programs at UC Davis Health, including the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, Alzheimer's Disease Center, School of Agriculture, School of Veterinary Medicine, and the Center for Comparative Medicine, the California National Primate Center, and the Center for Mouse Biology. Teaching in formal educational programs and mentorship of trainees is required.

Qualification Requirements: MD/DO, or PhD, or MD/DO-PhD; a strong record of publication and career development in biomedical animal- and/or human-based research and demonstrated teaching experience. Active extramural research funding is highly desirable. SUMMARY

The Activity Assistant supports the Director of Activities and/or the Activities Coordinator to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards and as may be directed by the Executive Director to ensure that an on-going program of activities is delivered. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Supports in the development and maintenance of the activity calendar; plans and implements the schedule for resident outings.

* Conducts activities that include residents at all levels of care. Attends outings as appropriate and monitor residents. Provides assistance to residents during activities as needed.

* Participates in the development and implementation of resident, family and community events including fund raising events and celebrations. Contributes in facility planning and program development relating the recreational needs of the residents.

* Incorporates resident feedback into the activity calendar; and passes on comments from residents and others to assist in quality improvement efforts.

* Provides feedback to Director of Activities and/or Activities Coordinator to assure equipment and supplies needed are available and in good working order.

The Assistant Director, Inclusion is responsible for the design, implementation, and assessment of inclusion programming for students, faculty, and staff of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. While campus-specific initiatives take priority, this is a HCOM position (including all three campuses) and requires close collaboration with the Assistant Directors in the other two campuses and individuals at all levels within the College and in the surrounding community. The Assistant Director has a key role in assisting faculty, staff, and students in achieving high levels student success and employee excellence.

Design and implementation of inclusion programming for ALL students, faculty and staff of the Heritage College, with particular focus on the Dublin Campus. Assist in the assessment of all inclusion programs. Build connections with community agencies and members to identify and leverage inclusion resources, to advance and enhance the student, faculty, and staff experience, cultural competency, and inclusion at the Heritage College. Collaborate with the HCOM Chief Inclusion Officer to identify, engage, and mobilize faculty and staff inclusion champions. There will be significant travel to the other campuses to design and implement programs, and to help coordinate important events.

Research, plan and execute and evaluate student programming, orientation, and campus outreach activities in conjunction with Heritage College faculty and staff. Monitors academic progress of and provides support to URM (under-represented minority) students in all four years, including connecting with College, University, and community resources, to help facilitate student success and retention. Implement and assess the physician diversity programs, in conjunction with Ohio Health. Serve as Program Manager and key advisor to the SNMA (Student National Medical Association) on the Dublin Campus, serving as key advisor to this student -run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color.

Serves as campus first point-of-contact for students experiencing incidents of discrimination and bias on the Dublin Campus. Triage and appropriate routing of the complaint for action and follow-up.

Additional activities to support HCOM Dublin Campus, including, but not limiting to the following. Plan and execute student programming, orientation, and campus activities in conjunction with Heritage College faculty and staff in Dublin, Cleveland, and Athens. Advance innovative activities to enhance the campus culture and educational experience. Assist Dublin Learning Services with medical student one-on-one holistic advising (Years 1-4) to diagnose barriers that hinder academic outcomes. Support Learning Services efforts to prepare, empower and counsel students in preparation for high-stakes examinations, board/licensing exams and curriculum/course final assessments. Assist Dublin Student Affairs in support of Dublin student organization advising, mentoring and campus programming. Work with staff peers referring students to appropriate resources and support services, including counseling and physical health resources, student activities, learning services, financial aid, research opportunities, or global programs.

Minimum Qualifications

* Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in educational psychology, education, communication, or related field.

* Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience related to the scope and functions of this position, as stated.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the required bachelor's degree.

Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department by gathering data, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations. Assists PCM in implementing new/revised processes and educating staff on these changes.

Assesses and measures department productivity and outcomes. Provides information and feedback to PCM on unit operations and staff performance and collaborates on resolving issues.
