Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Hispanic Studies at Vassar College invites applications for a two-year full-time visiting position beginning in the Fall of 2019 in Contemporary Latin American Literature and Culture. Interest in language learning and experience teaching language to Heritage Speakers is a plus.. The successful candidate will teach five courses over two semesters. The distribution of these courses during the first year will likely include Elementary and Intermediate Spanish and a seminar in the candidate's field of study. A Ph.D. or ABD is required. Additionally, the position requires native or near-native fluency in Spanish and experience teaching at the college level.

Vassar is a highly selective, coeducational liberal arts college of about 2450 undergraduates located in the beautiful and historic Hudson Valley seventy-five miles north of New York City.

Research justice offers an exciting opportunity to do just that by developing research praxis driven by those who are most affected by the phenomena we investigate.

Research Justice at the Intersections (RJI) is an interdisciplinary research group that fosters social justice-oriented research and groundbreaking critical analysis.

The RJI Scholars Program offers 8-12 competitively selected scholars the opportunity to engage in a critical reading and writing group during one academic year. RJI Scholars meet approximately biweekly during two academic semesters to share and comment on works in progress. Fall 2019 meetings are scheduled biweekly on Fridays 1-3pm; Spring TBD. Scholars will have an opportunity to present their work during brown bag lunches.

Eligibility
The RJI Scholars Program is open to:
Scholars whose research examines the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, and/or nation, and who are interested in exploring ideas related to a research justice framework in their work.
Must hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree, from any discipline.
May come from any country (please note Mills College is not able to provide legal advice or assistance regarding visas).
Must be in residence in the Bay Area from September 3 through December 6, 2019 and January 27 through April 24, 2020. Applications for one semester will also be considered.

We are proud to announce that we are opening up a Residential Program for adults with Acquired Brain Injury. Our new program is called Winter Street and it is in Burlington, MA. Winter Street is looking for a Program Manager that is an LPN to oversee the program.

$56,500 Annually

Expectations of the Role:

Work together with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives. Help residents with their daily living activities, showering, cooking, cleaning and skill building. The Program Manager will supervise, train and educate staff, complete scheduling of the group home, oversee and approve time sheets on a weekly basis using Kronos.

Follow individuals' plan of care as written, trained, and instructed

Complete all required documentation for the program, assigned individual(s), and adhere to DDS/ABI regulations.

Accompany, transport people served to outside activities, appointments, and perform other activities related to community integration

Oversee activities, ordering of program supplies, following program budget.

Implement, teach and follow all policies and procedures.

Implement, teach, and assist individuals with ISP goals and objectives on a consistent basis.

Administer medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP)

What You'll Need:

Education: LPN License required.

Experience:


* Supervisory Skills preferred
* Minimum of six months experience working with similar population in a human services environment.

Skills:


* Must have or be able to acquire CPR/SFA certification and medication certification within five months of employment.
* Knowledge of LPN course work, vitals, DDS/ ABI regulations
* Valid Massachusetts Driver's license required.
* Work is primarily sedative, however off-site travel is required to attend meetings, people served functions/appointments, trainings, etc
* Must have no lifting restrictions in order to assist people served and handle routine program functions.
