Research justice offers an exciting opportunity to do just that by developing research praxis driven by those who are most affected by the phenomena we investigate.

Research Justice at the Intersections (RJI) is an interdisciplinary research group that fosters social justice-oriented research and groundbreaking critical analysis.

The RJI Scholars Program offers 8-12 competitively selected scholars the opportunity to engage in a critical reading and writing group during one academic year. RJI Scholars meet approximately biweekly during two academic semesters to share and comment on works in progress. Fall 2019 meetings are scheduled biweekly on Fridays 1-3pm; Spring TBD. Scholars will have an opportunity to present their work during brown bag lunches.

Eligibility
The RJI Scholars Program is open to:
Scholars whose research examines the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, and/or nation, and who are interested in exploring ideas related to a research justice framework in their work.
Must hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree, from any discipline.
May come from any country (please note Mills College is not able to provide legal advice or assistance regarding visas).
Must be in residence in the Bay Area from September 3 through December 6, 2019 and January 27 through April 24, 2020. Applications for one semester will also be considered.

* Supervision of all staff, including relief staff


* Ensure the health and safety of the individual(s) assigned at all times
* May have to assist in showering and laundry of person served
* Follow individuals' plan of care as written, trained, and instructed
* Assist with all ADL's of the individual(s) assigned to him/her, including cleanliness of their rooms.
* Participate in housekeeping and upkeep of the program, completing monthly work orders when needed.
* Complete all required documentation for the program and assigned individual(s).
* Complete all assessments and paperwork to adhere to DDS/ABI regulations.
* Attend/ teach all required training's and maintain required certifications within prescribed time lines
* At the beginning of each shift, meet with staff person going off shift to review all person served and program information, at the end of the shift communicate necessary information to staff person arriving
* Report safety concerns to direct supervisor
* Accompany, transport, support and/or assist people served to outside activities, appointments, and perform other activities related to community integration
* Hold staff meetings once a week
* Supervise, train and educate staff on all paperwork. Complete scheduling of the group home. Oversee and approve time sheets on a weekly basis using Kronos.
* Oversee activities, ordering of program supplies, following program budget.
* Implement, teach and follow all policies and procedures.
* Assist with audits of the program- all program logs, medication and money audits, van reports and work orders of the program.
* Implement, teach, and assist individuals with ISP goals and objectives on a consistent basis.
* Schedule or assist persons in scheduling routine and preventative medical appointments, obtain and disseminate all reports to appropriate team members.
* Monitor medications, vital signs, distribute medication, assist persons in self-medication and being as independent as they can be, document medication distribution process in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing requirements.
* Inventory or assist persons in inventorying possessions, seasonal clothing, and personal supplies on a regular basis. Assist person served with personal needs shopping.

Education: LPN License required.

Experience:


* Supervisory Skills preferred
* Minimum of six months experience working with similar population in a human services environment.

Skills:

SUMMARY

The Administrator I - Senior Services plans, directs, supervises and coordinates the functions and activities of the facility to insure the vitality of the mission and the core values through quality patient care in accordance with acceptable standards of the community and consistent with the goals and objectives of the parent corporation and the sponsors. Advises and makes recommendations to the Regional Director of Long Term and Senior Care Services regarding the strategic direction, operations and activities of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Plans, directs, supervises and coordinates all functions and activities of the facility.
* Provides necessary accountabilities to the Executive Vice President /Chief Executive Officer through the Regional Director of Long Term and Senior Care Services.
* Assists in development, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures designed to further the goals of the facility.
* Guides the development of the fiscal year budget for approval by the Regional Director of Long Term and Senior Care Services.
* Promotes favorable public relations and guides marketing efforts consistent with the mission and core values of the organization.
* Develops strategic/long range plans for the facility in keeping with the mission and values of the organization and the needs of the community it serves.
* Appoints department heads and regularly evaluates the job performance of all managerial staff using goal-centered and mission-centered performance criteria.
* Oversees the recruitment, selection, employment, development, and discharge of all employees with methods commensurate with the mission and core values of the organization.
* Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration/Long Term Care Administration.
* Minimum three years of experience as a Health Care Administrator with at least three years supervisory experience required.
* Post-graduate degree is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

* Nursing Administrator with a current Illinois License required.
