Classified The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California at Santa Barbara is accepting applications for open-level search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor position in the broad area of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with an effective appointment date of July 1, 2020. This hire may involve an appointment to an endowed chair. The Department has particular (non-exclusive) interest in applicants with a depth of expertise in data science, machine learning, networking and communications, computer engineering, circuits, electronic and photonic materials, physics and devices along with the ability to collaborate with faculty across disciplines.

Candidates should have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment. * Prepares from standardized recipes large-scale food production for patients, cafeteria, guests and catering clients according to established forecasts within specified timeframes. Ensures that food service is provided correctly to patients and employees making use of patient menus, recipes, dietary restrictions, garnishing instructions and portion charts.

* Prepares, serves and stores food in a safe and sanitary manner ensuring all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in accordance with Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.

* Utilizes all products in a cost effective manner preparing only to the forecasted level. Monitors food production and makes adjustments throughout the shift to ensure minimal product waste.

* Demonstrates an ability to work effectively with peers, supervisors and managers as a member of the team and establishes collaborative and supportive relationships. Cross trains in various cook positions and assists in the proper training and orientation of new staff.

* Follows established policies and procedures for all aspects of the job being performed. Follows the assigned cleaning procedures and cleaning schedules.

The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) seeks an individual to manage and advance its educational programs in evolution, genetics, and neuroscience, with a specific focus on programming in the Hall of Human Origins Lab. This individual reports to the Director of Public Programs and Exhibition Education.

Overarching responsibilities

* Develop and implement programming for the Hall of Human Origins Lab, including classes for various audiences such as school groups, adults, teachers, youth, museum visitors and families.

* Oversee all operational aspects of the HHO Lab, including scientific assets, staff management, budget and maintenence.

* Primary liaison for the HHO Lab programming and activities with Museum science and education personnel.

* Support integration of HHO Lab programming with public programs and exhibition education opportunities.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

* Science & Teaching

* Prepare and teach high school and middle school lab classes during the week, plus additional classes to special student groups as needed, with the support of two part-time teaching assistants

* Lead weekend drop-in facilitation as needed, with the support of volunteers and part-time teaching assistants

* Create up-to-date and scientifically accurate curricula for weekday and weekend programming in the HHO Lab

* Research, vet, and create programming for Brain Bench public programs, including the identification and review of timely and salient content and speakers

* Provide expertise on current scientific studies and research to inform the broader public programs slate

* Provide educational tours and talks to specific audiences of students, teachers, and donors as requested

* Design and oversee evaluation for HHO Lab programs, synthesize findings and use these findings to inform future work

* Engage with scientists inside & outside the building

* Administration

* Manage full-time and part-time staff

* Develop and manage budgets for the lab, and associated programs and projects

* Oversee room usage by other museum programs and departments

* Document and present the work of the HHO Lab programs, through written reports and live presentations to senior Museum staff and donors

Required Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in a biological science with a focus on human evolution, physical anthropology, or human genetics

* Experience teaching science content, preferably in informal environments

* Experience in developing partnerships with individuals and organizations

* Fluency with writing proposals and reports

* Impeccable organization, coordination, and communication skills

* Record of working effectively with colleagues and external parties

* Record of working in fast-paced environment and multi-tasking

* Experience with creating systems, and maintaining records

* Experience with managing budgets
