Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Keep the doctor and the hygienist productively scheduled throughout the day in cooperation with tx coordinators. * Schedule all appointments and detail procedure and time needed accurately based on clinical notes and routers. * Schedule according to template scheduling whenever available. * Check with lab coordinator that lab cases have been received before calling to confirm patient. * Greet patients by name and update addresses, telephone numbers and insurance information as appropriate * Alert appropriate staff of patient arrivals and set as "here" in schedule. * Monitor the schedule throughout the day in conjunction with the tx coordinator to insure that all openings are filled to ensure production. * Make sure that the open times in the day are used for emergencies. * Reschedule the late patient (after manager approves) and any no-shows that occur during the day. * Check accounts balances of patients coming in and prepare to discuss any monies due * At the morning huddle, cover: * Cynthia list essentials> * Determine the status of the next continuing care visit for each hygiene patient seen during the day to insure no one is missed * Keep staff and doctor informed of openings when same day cancelations. * Call any patient that is due to determine their status and inform the clinical staff if running late or not keeping reserved appointment time and reason. * Register new patients and provide necessary forms (welcome letter, patient information, and office policy) * Keep patients informed of expected waiting time if the doctor is behind schedule.
