Position Specific Information



Title: .NET/C# Software Developer--no ceiling on career advancement

Duration: permanent employment

Primary duties and responsibilities:

* Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of Lab information system application.

* Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to an existing systems, and / or new systems, environments, and technology.

* Design, implement, and unit test application / system components.

* Provide assistance to other agile team members in researching and answering technical questions.

* Develop and maintain the software framework and services using the .NET framework, dev express controls and Microsoft technologies

* Participate in Sprint Retrospectives to discover new ways to improve and how to implement findings.



Desired education and experience:

* 5+ years' experience of software development with Visual Studio 2012 or higher.

* Knowledge of the .NET framework 3.5 +, Entity Framework, Visual SVN version control server.

* Development experience utilizing C#, VB, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, LINQ and Lua.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012, T-SQL, and Stored Procedures

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate to define and refine new functionality.

* Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Nice to have experience with:

Hl7, Lua language, interfaceware / Iguana / Chameleon knowledge.

Position Summary:
CLASS-Advisement Center. The Academic Advisor provides students with in-depth information concerning course descriptions, program requirements, prerequisites and registration procedures; assists in developing academic schedules, addressing students' concern by providing support, resource information, and referrals; and provides support to faculty advisors.

Essential Functions

* Provides current and prospective students with in-depth information regarding course descriptions, prerequisites, program requirements and registration procedures.

* Participates at SOAR including creating and giving presentations, advisement, registration, problem solving and course evaluations.

* Reviews and performs preliminary evaluation of transcripts and provides early advisement to transfer students.

* Processes changes of major requests which include counseling students on majors, course requirements, and follow-ups to ensure assignment of advisor.

* Counsels students and assists with developing academic schedules and makes referrals to services and resources offered on-campus.

* Provides support to Faculty Advisors and in consultation with Faculty Advisor/Department Chair updates/creates advising materials and checklist.

* Represents the CLASS Advisement Center and College at meetings, open houses and recruitment events.

Understanding the distinctive - and different - needs of faculty and lecturers from an HR standpoint is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree and three years of HR related experience or the equivalent required

Experience: 2-3 years' experience working to support faculty and/or academic staff in a higher education environment preferred; especially in administration of personnel processes

Skills & Abilities:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking an Academic Support Services Administrator to join our team of professionals.

Duties Include:

* Provides support for the Core Concepts in Medicine course. Oversees faculty onboarding in small group teaching and student assessment skills and manages all aspects of course functioning (scheduling of faculty and classrooms, keeping the grade-book, building and administering examinations, maintaining the course Learning Management System (LMS) online, preparing and distributing all materials for faculty and students, maintaining student files, tracking absences, tardiness, make-ups, and remediation, and providing administrative assistance during class sessions).

* In collaboration with other FIU HWCOM faculty and staff, develops and maintains comprehensive curriculum and faculty development databases.

* Together with the Assistant Dean of Teaching & Learning plans, designs, implements, and delivers faculty development activities (online, on and off campus). Manages approval of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit for applicable activities.
